With over thirteen years experience as a full time music teacher and over thirty five years experience as a performing lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Foster McMullen teaches guitar, bass, and has all but completed his B.A. from Composition at Mercer University and the progressive rock band ( Big Hairy Monster ) Big Hairy Monster is currently performing locally in the Middle Ga Area and is soon to release their first album "View" which is the latest release from the Quadrilogy "View from the Borderline" You can look for them on Myspace and at bighairymonster.com, he has writen a scale book, theory book, and an ear training book, and is also working on his guitar method book, and completing an article for journal publication entitled “The Music of Freedom: An Analysis of Rock Music in the Twentieth Century.” Foster is also married with three daughters.
Foster currently performs with Gateway Fellowship Church of God Choir, Praise Team, and Big Hairy Monster. Previously he performed with various Mercer Jazz Combos and performances in the Mercer Classical Guitar Ensemble, locally as a solo singer/songwriter with his own compositions in addition to consistent performances in cover and original rock bands since the 1970’s including two with releases; HELLENBACH (1989) and REDLINE‘s “Get The Red Out” (1998). HELLENBACH was the headline act for WQBZ in the Cherry Blossom Festival’s Street Party in 1990. Foster is also working on an original Christian album entitled “Have A Little Faith.” For an example of his previous work check out his currently available compilation CD “Withstanding the Fury” which is a collection of original rock songs from various groups he has performed with over the last twenty years. He now owns Music Masters in Byron, GA.
